He holds a cane with one hand while the other rests near his chest, and his posture is slightly hunched. Behind him the shop window displays scattered papers and torn posters, with large partially visible letters across the top of the glass. The lower facade of the shop features carved paneling, and the ground in front is tiled. The overall image is rendered in fine crosshatched lines and muted tones.
