Sl: Association of the Antwerp Etchers, 1882., cupids: 'amores', 'amoretti', 'putti', the graphic arts, kitchen-utensils: funnel, A detailed pen-and-ink drawing shows a large ornate vase perched on a pedestal, its wide bowl overflowing with many small cherubic figures, some with tiny wings, clustered and reaching outward while holding pieces of paper and small flags; a few cherubs sit on the rim or hang from the sides, one descending toward a suspended object on a cord and another seated on the floor sketching or painting on a sheet propped before them; above the scene a large flowing ribbon curls across the top with a decorative emblem and floral cluster near one end, and the background is filled with fine hatch shading and crosshatching lines.
