Brussels: François Foppens, 1682. The book was also published in Amsterdam in 1682 by the heirs of Daniel Elzevier. Each portrait is an illustration accompanying the biography of an artist or scholar. Most of the portraits were produced by Nicolas de Larmessin (162), 93 by De Boulonois and a third by unidentified printmakers. This concerns an illustration on p. 150, part II., Person, Ramon Llull, historical persons, scholar, philosopher, A sepia-toned engraved portrait shows a man with short hair and a trimmed beard inside an oval frame; he wears a high collared garment with a fur-trimmed cloak and looks slightly to his left with a neutral expression; decorative horizontal lines fill the background inside the oval and surrounding rectangular border; printed headings and blocks of text appear above and below the portrait, and a decorative floral initial sits at the start of the lower text block.
