A simple shelter on stilts extends over the water near a cluster of dense foliage, and wooden posts and planks lie scattered along the shore. In the middle ground a figure in plain clothing stands on the grassy plain near grazing cattle, and farther back low buildings and distant trees appear on the horizon beneath a sky marked with a few wispy clouds and small flying birds. The water surface reflects the boats, posts, and surrounding vegetation with horizontal etched lines indicating gentle ripples.
