Bærentzen & Co. in 1846., Person, Andreas Schifter, historical persons, A monochrome portrait of an older man seated, shown from the waist up, wearing a formal military uniform with braided shoulder epaulettes and decorative collar embroidery, his hair short and swept back with sideburns, his face turned slightly to one side with a neutral expression, multiple decorative medals pinned to his chest including cross-shaped insignia, a double-breasted coat with rows of buttons, one hand resting on an armrest holding a thin object, the other arm relaxed with a detailed cuff and a sash around his waist, all framed by a simple ornamental border on a pale background.
