Figures in period clothing occupy the scene: a woman in a dress descends the stairs holding the railing, a couple further down the path face each other with the man offering his hand while holding a hat, and a woman sits nearby on the path. On the upper platform several figures stand or lean against the railing, some wearing hats and one holding a parasol. Trees and dense foliage fill the left and lower areas, while the sky above is lightly shaded with cloud forms. The overall texture is detailed pencil or etching work with fine shading and crosshatching.
