The other figure, positioned to the left and bent over, grasps stalks or bundles near the ground. Bundles of cut vegetation lie around them and short stubble covers the field. In the distant background a flat horizon is visible with scattered bushes and a few tall, thin trees. The sky is filled with horizontal, closely spaced lines. The overall image is rendered with fine, textured strokes and cross-hatching.
