On the later state of this print is number 1., irrigation, cultivation, North Africa, Luxor, A detailed charcoal or pencil scene of a rustic riverside structure with rough wooden beams, tied ropes, and weathered posts extending over dark water, topped by a simple shelter made from branches and foliage; a person sits under the shelter holding a long pole beside a large animal with a rounded body standing near the edge; surrounding the structure are rocky, worn stone walls, tufts of grasses and low plants, and textured ground, all rendered in muted tones with soft shading and fine crosshatching.
