This is a modern print of a plate from the twelfth century., crown (symbol of sovereignty), North Rhine-Westphalia, Aachen, Cathedral (Aachen), A circular carved or engraved medallion with a central seated figure wearing a robe and halo, holding a sphere in one hand and a book in the other, surrounded by four smaller haloed figures and four winged creature heads in quadrants, all rendered in thin dark lines on a light, slightly speckled background, with a decorative braided or leaf-pattern border around the outer edge and small round rivet-like marks at intervals along the rim.
