To the right of the façade a long covered arcade with repeating rounded arches extends along the building beside a taller plain structure with a pitched roof and rectangular windows, and further right a tall bell tower with large open arches rises above the complex. In the foreground an open market area spreads across the plaza with many canvas-covered stalls and awnings, scattered goods, a small square kiosk, carts, and low piles of materials, while a few indistinct figures move near the cathedral entrances. The photograph has a sepia tone and shows worn stone surfaces, shadows cast by the architecture, and various architectural details such as columns, arches, statues, and roof tiles.
