On the right, a multi-figure equestrian statue on a raised pedestal is surrounded by a low fence in front of a row of multistory buildings with shuttered windows and awnings. Further back on the right, a tall bell tower rises above ornate palatial buildings with arched windows and decorative facades. Across the water on the left, a domed church and adjacent classical buildings occupy the distant shoreline, and smaller boats are visible on the water between the two shores. The sky above is pale and largely empty.
