Dunlop with photographs of sights in Persia, Scotland, Germany, Russia, China, and Canada., photographer: Hendrik Dunlop (possibly), Fuzhou, c. 1890 - c. 1895, Fujian, paper, daylight gelatin silver print, height 106 mm x width 153 mm, courtyard, pier, quay, wharf, A riverside scene with a large leafy tree dominating the left and center, its branches extending over the water and a stone embankment. Small wooden boats float near the shore beneath the tree. Along the right side there are wooden buildings with tiled roofs and open doorways, a narrow stone path and steps leading up to one entrance. Several people are visible near the doorways and on the steps, some seated and some standing, with indistinct clothing and faces. Stacked tiles, wooden posts, and bamboo or wooden fencing are arranged against the buildings. The water surface is calm and reflective, and stonework forms the retaining wall along the bank.
