The upper scene depicts a large, roaring lion head with a flowing mane and bared teeth, a winged bird perched near its face, and a curling tail or serpentine form behind it, all set against a cloudy landscape. The lower scene shows a crowded group of figures in dynamic poses reaching and grasping toward a central, shrouded standing figure who faces left and wears a dark hat, with expressive faces and gestures layered around the central interaction and swirling drapery and smoke-like forms enveloping parts of the composition.
