See Nagasaki University Library Collection, where the same photo (colored)., number: '388', inscription: 'illegible', c. 1870 - c. 1900, photographer, paper, albumen print, height 195 mm x width 258 mm, Kyushu, A sepia-toned scene shows a rocky streambed extending toward the background with smooth boulders and smaller stones scattered along the water and banks, wooden tubs and buckets resting among the rocks, a stone arched bridge crossing the stream with a second distant arch visible beyond it, timber and stone buildings with tiled roofs lining the banks including a tall wooden structure partially covered in climbing vegetation, a low wooden shelter with posts near the water, a stone retaining wall supporting a slope on one side, patches of grass and shrubs on the banks, and a large tree with a broad canopy visible behind the buildings.
