Hotel de ville', Enkhuizen, 1870 - 1900, photographer, paper, pasteboard, albumen print, albumendruk, height 181 mm x width 115 mm, height 194 mm x width 123 mm, town hall, Stadhuis (Enkhuizen), A large stone building with a symmetrical façade rises from a paved approach, featuring evenly spaced rectangular windows and decorative stonework around a central entrance with steps and a recessed doorway framed by columns and an arched transom. Above the entrance is an ornate balcony area with sculpted figures and a circular window set into the wall, and a small dome-like cupola sits atop the roof with open arches. Chimney-like structures project from the roof on either side, and a low wooden fence runs across the foreground beside a dirt path. A lamppost stands near the building's right side, a cart is positioned near the entrance, and trees and trimmed hedging appear at the left and right edges of the scene. The image has a toned, aged appearance.
