To the right of the frame is a carved wooden structure with elaborate reliefs of scrolling foliage and figures, and adjacent to that are stacked fabric-covered books or cushions with patterned bands. To the left of the framed panel a draped figure is partly visible within the tapestry, and the lower area shows decorative architectural details and a long narrow object resembling a pole or staff resting diagonally. The image is rendered in sepia tones with high contrast highlighting the carved and textile textures.
