The machine features sets of cylindrical rollers partially enclosed in a structural housing, toothed gears meshing along exposed shafts, and a web of thin belts or tapes guided over rods and pulleys. One side shows a winding drum with a handwheel and supporting arms, while the opposite side displays a compact assembly of small shafts, connecting rods, and bars with clamp-like fixtures. Vertical and horizontal frames with ribbed shading surround the central mechanism, and several slender rods hang down near the center. Fine linework and crosshatching render shadows and textures across metal surfaces and the wooden-looking base, all set against a pale, unadorned background.
