The foreground is filled with many people wearing period clothing, including hats, coats, long dresses, and aprons, some pushing or standing near small wheeled carts and a pram, and several clusters of figures form dense groups near the buildings. Wooden fences and barriers separate areas, and a few carriages or horse-drawn vehicles are visible among the crowd. Shadows fall across the ground and some figures appear blurred from motion. The sky above is light and mostly clear.
