The base of the cliff meets a pebbly or sandy shore that extends across the lower foreground. Along the top of the cliff there are slender tree trunks and sparse foliage, with some taller evergreens and thinner deciduous trunks visible against a pale sky. The left side of the image includes a smaller outcropping of rock with additional trees and a narrow strip of distant shoreline barely visible at the far left edge. The overall scene is detailed in high contrast tones and grainy texture.
