The upper scene depicts a crowded battle with many mostly nude or lightly draped male figures in dynamic poses, some wielding shields and spears, one mounted figure on a horse raising an arm, and several fallen figures on the ground. The lower scene shows a group of clothed and semi-clothed men gathered before seated figures under a draped canopy, a child or youth presenting a large vessel while others gesture and observe, with trees and a distant landscape visible behind them. Both scenes are rendered in a monochrome, engraved style and are centered on the page with empty margins surrounding them.
