The man faces forward with a composed expression, short wavy hair, sideburns, and a high collar decorated with braiding. His uniform features epaulettes with tassels, rows of buttons, and several medal-like ornaments on the chest including a radiating star and a cross-shaped badge. The oval portrait is set within a decorative rectangular panel with layered mouldings and ornamental wreath motifs at the corners. Below the oval, a detailed sculptural relief depicts a large eagle with outstretched wings perched above a collection of classical and military objects, including a partially draped helmeted figure and various armor and weapons arranged around the base. The overall image is finely hatched with delicate shading and textural detail.
