Appareil pour pointer les repères, Apparatus for presumably making printing forms for photomechanical printing, page, photomechanical print, name: 'Cl. l'Appareillage photomécanique.', c. 1922 - in or before 1932, paper, autotype, height 21 mm x width 81 mm, photographic apparatus, The image shows a vertical printed page containing four small rectangular maps of Europe arranged in a grid, two across and two down, each with thin borders and differing color treatments; the top left map is monochrome with black outlines and labels, the top right map has light greenish shading in some regions, the bottom left map uses pink and tan fill colors across areas, and the bottom right map is fully colored with various pastel shades and blue shading over the surrounding sea. Each map displays coastlines, national and regional boundaries, and many place labels rendered in small print. Between the lower maps and the bottom edge of the page are three small horizontal colored rectangles in greenish-gold, magenta, and blue, aligned side by side, and below them is a centered line of printed caption text. The paper shows a slightly aged, off-white background with faint printing imperfections and crisp black border lines framing the whole composition.
