The setting includes a checkered floor with scattered small flowers, a tall vase holding a slender flowering stem between the figures, cushioned benches behind them, an ornately carved wooden lectern supporting the book, and decorative Gothic-style architectural panels framing the space. Several small winged figures hover above the central partition, and a small bird appears near the haloed woman's head. The angel holds a long flowering stalk and has curly hair and a calm expression, while the seated woman's head is bowed and her hair falls in waves over her shoulder.
