Around the central rider are several smaller figures in active poses, some climbing or carrying others and some wielding long poles or pikes, all dressed in period clothing and hats. In the upper right corner there is a small inset scene depicting a shoreline with ships and groups of people, and the background contains hilly or rocky terrain with diagonal hatching. A rectangular plinth or stone block with a framed panel faces forward near the rider’s legs, and decorative foliage and ground textures appear at the bottom and edges of the composition.
