A small dog stands on the ground near the men's feet. In the background a building with rounded arches and a peaked roof is visible, and leafless trees with intertwining branches fill the upper portion of the scene against a lightly clouded sky. The image is richly textured with fine crosshatching and line work defining clothing folds, tree bark, and architectural details.
