The oval frame has a beaded inner border and rests atop a rectangular plinth with chains and a padlock draped across its top edge; decorative elements, including a broken lyre and scattered rods, lie beside the plinth. Fine crosshatching and stippling create shading and texture throughout the composition, and a simple double-lined border encloses the scene.
