A muscular adult stands with one foot forward, carrying another bearded, older man on his shoulders who grasps the carrier's head and has a cloak flowing behind him. The carrier's torso and limbs are rendered with defined musculature and he wears a short garment around his waist. A smaller nude child walks beside them, reaching up to hold the edge of the older man's drapery. In the background a helmeted soldier with a round shield and long spear stands near a wall with flames and smoke rising, and distant architectural forms are faintly visible through the smoke. The image is bordered by a narrow margin and shows fine crosshatching and stippling throughout the scene.
