The series was published after Villamena's death. While the first fifteen prints are numbered 1-15, the last five prints are numbered 60-64. The printmaker may have envisioned a series of 64 prints, which remained unfinished due to his death., adoration of the Christ-child by the shepherds, Mary and Joseph present, A monochrome engraving shows a group of people and animals arranged around a central infant on a raised block, the infant depicted with a radiant halo and reaching toward a woman kneeling beside him who wears a long veil and draped robes. Behind them a cow and a donkey look toward the infant, and to the left a standing man shields his eyes with his hand while another bareheaded man beside him carries a lamb over his shoulders. Above the infant two winged angels hover, one placing a wreath on the other's head while both hold flowers and flowing drapery. To the right a bearded standing man looks toward the scene and a crouching figure with a staff faces inward, resting one hand on the staff. The setting includes vertical architectural elements and a small window or opening in the background showing a distant landscape, with detailed crosshatching and linear shading throughout the composition.
