The man wears a loose sleeve visible on one arm, and the portrait is set within an oval frame of fine parallel hatch lines against a textured background. The image has an aged paper appearance with small spots and areas of discoloration around the edges, and a circular stamp-like mark is faintly visible near the lower corner.
