Putti with a trumpet and binoculars and a crowned young man with a scepter, key, and globe with animals flank the portrait. Amsterdam: Sn, sa (Possibly an edition by Pieter de Coup, 1729). Print originating from a scrapbook with title prints, ornaments, etc. on blue paper, disassembled in 1983. According to a note on the verso, the print was located on p. 160 of this album., Person, cupids: 'amores', 'amoretti', 'putti', writing and letters, geography (portrait of scholar, scientist), A detailed monochrome engraving shows a seated robed woman holding an open book or tablet and looking upward, draped fabric falling over her legs and feet; to her side is a large globe set in a stand and a rolled sheet lying on steps with a pair of dividers resting on it. Above her, a crowned male figure reclines on clouds, holding a long key-like instrument and touching the surface of a large orb, while a wreath-framed bust of a bearded man is positioned between them. Two winged child figures appear, one blowing a long trumpet and the other leaning over a ledge with a small instrument. Architectural ledges, foliage, distant trees and a seascape with ships and mountains are visible in the background. The composition features intricate line work and shading throughout.
