The foreground shows cobbled or worn pavement lines leading toward the arch, and a curved raised stone edge at the lower right. The upper section of the archway contains a rectangular panel with a faint relief or carved motif. Overall the image is rendered with fine cross-hatched lines and varied tonal shading.
