On the left a slatted fence runs alongside a steep roofed structure with visible shingles and a small doorway; on the right another curved railing leads toward bundled objects covered by draped cloth. In the midground there are stacked wooden barrels or crates and a tall post with a knotted top, while behind them the rooftops of additional buildings slope upward beneath a textured sky. Leafless, densely branched trees rise on the far right, and the scene is rendered with fine crosshatched lines and varied shading.
