He wears a dark coat with a double-breasted front and visible buttons, over a waistcoat and a lace-trimmed cravat. The oval portrait is set against a textured background with concentric decorative borders and a braided ornament at the top of the frame. Below the oval, a rectangular plaque with raised borders is mounted on a block-like pedestal. The image is rendered with fine cross-hatching and detailed line work throughout.
