Schaepkens (1859)., cave, grotto, Sint-Pietersberg, A narrow vertical black-and-white etching showing a rocky, shadowed canyon interior with heavy crosshatched shading; a small figure stands near the bottom wearing a wide-brimmed hat and a cloak, holding a walking stick and facing inward, surrounded by uneven ground and scattered boulders; tall, jagged rock walls rise on either side, their surfaces rendered with dense lines and varied textures, and a lighter patch of rock is visible partway up one side while darker, cloudlike shading fills the upper area of the composition.
