The foreground contains textured grasses and low vegetation drawn with dense hatch marks. The middle ground features the cows arranged across the scene, one cow separated to the right and others grouped toward the center, their horns and facial profiles indicated by delicate strokes. The distant horizon and water are suggested by horizontal lines. Above, the sky is filled with layered, swirling cloud formations and long horizontal hatch lines, with a few small birds sketched in flight. The overall image is monochromatic and composed of varied linework to indicate form and texture.
