In the upper left is a man with powdered, curled hair, high collar, and a ruffled cravat, shown in three-quarter view with a composed expression. The upper right displays a bust with a shorter, closely cropped hairstyle and blank eyes, draped in a toga-like garment and turned slightly to the left. The lower left features a younger man with short curly hair, a high collar, and a folded coat, facing forward with a calm gaze. The lower right portrays a seated youth with tousled hair and layered clothing, his hands positioned over an open book or papers and one hand holding a pen, looking directly outward. The background is plain with subtle hatch shading around the figures and a simple border framing the composition.
