Several waterfowl float near the bank while a few birds are visible in flight above the distant tree line. The right side of the image is dominated by a cluster of dense trees and undergrowth, including a slender, lighter-colored tree trunk leaning inward, while the left side opens to a more distant view of low vegetation and barren branches. The sky is textured with fine horizontal etching marks and the foreground includes detailed ripples and reflections in the water.
