The prints were produced by various artists based on drawings by Daniel Chodowiecki. In 1774 the collected print work was published under the title: Kupfersammlung zu JB Basedows Elementarwerk für die Jugend und ihre Freunde., Person, Johann Bernhard Basedow, the Olympian gods together: Jupiter, Juno, Neptune, Ceres, Apollo, Diana, Mars, Venus, Mercury, Minerva, Vulcan, Vesta (or Bacchus), A detailed monochrome engraving shows a group of partially clothed and nude figures reclining on and emerging from stylized clouds, arranged in a semicircular composition. At the center, two prominent seated figures rest on draped cloth with one holding a staff and the other displaying a muscular torso while leaning on a cloth. Around them, various figures hold objects such as a trident, a shield, a spear, a quiver of arrows, and a rod entwined with a serpent, while one figure cradles a small child. Rays of light and radiating lines appear behind a laureled head near the left center, and an eagle is visible beneath the central seated figures. The scene includes textured cloud forms filling the lower and background areas, and the figures display varied hairstyles, helmets, and garments with intricate linear shading throughout the composition.
