The prints were produced by various artists based on drawings by Daniel Chodowiecki. In 1774, the collected print works were published under the title: Kupfersammlung zu JB Basedows Elementarwerk für die Jugend und ihre Freunde., Person, Johann Bernhard Basedow, home sewing, repair of clothes, parents with their children, head bent forward, bowing, returning home from school (report, mark, school), A sheet divided into four rectangular scenes shows groups of people in interior rooms rendered in fine etched line work. In the top left scene three boys stand near a doorway holding hats while a seated man in an armchair reclines with one leg extended and a woman stands behind him; furniture includes a patterned settee and framed pictures on the walls. The top right scene depicts a windowed room with a table draped in cloth where a seated man leans back, several women attend to a child, and an elderly woman sits at a small table holding a bowl or object. The bottom left scene shows a seated woman nursing an infant while another woman adjusts the child and a standing man gestures toward a young woman near a table covered with cloth. The bottom right scene presents a room with shelving of pottery
