On the left a row of figures is positioned under an arched structure, their garments and hoods creating layered vertical lines. In the center background a tall wall rises with textured shading and a domed building appears beyond it. To the right three men stand together near the bed, two with hats and one bent slightly forward, and further right the landscape shows low rolling shapes and a circular pit containing upright stake-like objects. The sky is sparsely engraved with cloud-like strokes and there is an overall dense crosshatch and linear engraving style.
