The face has long wavy hair and a full curly beard rendered with fine crosshatching and flowing lines. The eyes are shaded and gazing slightly to one side, with pronounced eyebrows and a slender nose. The head is topped with a rounded cap, and the background inside the oval contains horizontal hatch marks. The paper shows small brown age spots and faint creases around the image.
