The valley itself lies at an altitude of 800 m. It is only 1000 to 1500 m wide and thus forms a narrow tube between the steep mountain slopes. The sun therefore does not reach the floor even in the middle of summer before 7 o'clock, and in the middle of winter only a few minutes before 12 o'clock! The White Lutschine, which flows through the valley, is barely visible in the picture. However (on the right), the famous Staubbach is visible, plunging down from a height of 300 m.
