Many individuals wear varied historical costumes and garments, including long dresses, cloaks, and headwear, and several people hold large flags and banners. In the foreground a group of musicians with instruments sit behind a low barrier, and in front of them performers stand on a raised platform where a few figures with distinctive robes and shields are positioned. To the sides and behind the platform the crowd rises densely, interspersed with tall evergreen trees, rocky formations, and what appears to be a small stone structure partially obscured by foliage. The overall composition is crowded and theatrical, with layered groups of people, flags, and natural rock and tree elements filling the lower portion of the image while the upper area is dominated by an expanse of sky above the distant mountain ridge.
