Floor mosaic presumably from a church in Rome, photograph, page, Rome, c. 1850 - in or before 1860, photographer, paper, albumen print, height 134 mm x width 98 mm, pavement, floor, architecture, A rectangular panel filled with repeated geometric patterns and concentric circular motifs arranged symmetrically, featuring thick white borders and darker filled areas made of small triangular and diamond shapes, with a central vertical rectangular dark column containing a decorative white column-like shape topped by a crown motif, surrounded by checkerboard blocks and square motifs, spiraling circular designs with star-like centers, diagonal bands of patterned triangles forming diamond frames, and an outer border of alternating diamond tiles; the image is monochromatic in sepia tones and shows a narrow lighter margin along the right edge.
