The locomotive sits on visible driving wheels and connecting rods beneath a flat running plate, with exposed mechanical linkages and suspension elements. At the rear there is an open cab with a rounded doorway and a small handrail, and on the top of the tank near the cab are cylindrical fittings and a rectangular raised housing. The image has a textured paper border and small specks and blemishes across the background.
