Many figures wear historical clothing such as long robes, cloaks, doublets, and caps; some are seated on chairs while others stand or kneel. Two central seated figures face each other with one extending a hand toward the other. Nearby, a man in a robe reads from an open book while others look on. In the background a domed building and sculpted fountain are visible on the horizon. The ground in the foreground is textured with grass and dirt and a few scattered figures sit or recline at the edge of the scene. The image has rounded upper corners and a pale border surrounding the drawing.
