A vertical dark rock face is visible at the top left where the water begins to spill over. Clouds occupy the upper right portion of the scene, appearing soft and diffuse against a pale sky. In the lower foreground there is rocky ground with patches of grass and low vegetation, and a few larger rocks along the bottom edge. The overall image is monochromatic with high contrast between the bright falling water and the darker rocks and vegetation.
