In the foreground a winding road and patterned fields lead toward the town, with small groups of figures visible along the path, including a group walking together at the front center and two seated figures to the right. Trees and foliage frame the left and upper edges, and clouds occupy much of the sky with a dark cloud near the top center containing a draped banner. Overall the image has an aged, textured appearance with areas of fading and surface marks.
