She is dressed in a foot-length skirt – or wrap skirt (redda) – of floral fabric, and a wide Portuguese blouse with a V-neck and long sleeves (hatte). Her wavy hair is parted in the middle and probably pinned back in a bun (condé). The bench on which she is sitting is a narrow wooden plank less than a meter wide on four diagonally placed round wooden legs. On the left of the page is an unfinished sketch of a sitting man. He is wearing a cap and has a beard.
