Four women and a man, sketchbook page, Outside on uneven ground, a group of people is drawn. On the far left, on a slope, a woman is crouching with her eyes closed. She is wearing a Portuguese blouse with a V-neck and long sleeves (hatte), a long wrap skirt (redda), and a rolled-up cloth around her head. The woman next to her is standing slightly back, her feet hidden behind the slope. She too is wearing a wrap skirt tucked at the waist, a Portuguese blouse, and a rolled-up headscarf hanging down her shoulders. On her head is a water jug (kalaya). Between them is a sketchy outline of a woman seen from behind. On the right stands a man with his arms folded in front of his stomach. He wears a wide hip garment (veshti, lungi), tied in a South Indian manner (like a dhoti) and rolled up at the waist; a second long cloth (chadar) hangs over his shoulders. The woman crouching in front of him to the right wears a Portuguese blouse (hatte), and a rolled-up cloth around her head. Next to her on the ground stands an earthenware water jug (kalaya).
